MATERIALS FOR HIRE

From fifty years the OTOS is binding in the promotion and diffusion of its musical patrimony of italian Opera and it's present with its own titles in the most important national and international Theatres. Its catologue, yearly enriched with proposals which complete and increase the knowledge of the great composers of the Italian tradition, it is present in the most qualify bookshops of the world.

The OTOS editorial project means to deepen always more the relation within who's performing its musical patrymony, giving to the lyric artists and to the operators of our field the disposal, beyond its own collaboration and experience, revisions made by the most prestigious names of our musical tradition; we quote the M° Bruno Rigacci, M° Aldo Rocchi, M° Angelo Coan, the composer Vito Frazzi.

At the beginning of 1960, thanks to the work of the composer Vito Frazzi, the OTOS consolidated some important artistic collaborations with the Accademia Chigiana of Siena (Frazzi was its artistic director at that time), the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Sagra Musicale Umbra, institutions that represented and still represent an important reference for the entire musical culture.

Concerning this long collaboration the OTOS assembled and it is preserving works and critic revisions signed by Maestros of international fame.

It is our pleasure to remind one of them in particular: the "Medea" from Luigi Cherubini, who signed definitely the growth of Maria Callas to the highest lyric stages.

Since its constitution the OTOS worked a lot on the origins of the melodramma in Tuscany recupering works of authors like Jacopo Peri, Giulio Caccini, Claudio Monteverdi, Marco Antonio Cesti and Luigi Cherubini, to face later on themes of the serious and comic Opera of XVIII century. Big care was given to the restoring and to the diffusion of many works of two important Italian composers: Gioacchino Rossini and Gaetano Donizetti of whom, until today, the OTOS distributes all over the world the most rare titles.

Unfortunately , on November 1966, the Florence alluvion caused serious damages to a considerable part of the materials of the OTOS. Valuables manuscripts, musical scores, revisions, archives, where faticauselly saved from the mud and still now the restoration work is going on.

This is the reason why the OTOS catalogue is integrated and enriched yearly by the new property after a pause of more than twenty years caused by the personal story, the age and unfortunately the death of the owners Vito Frazzi and Eva Riccioli which with great passion have saved and leaved us materials of such enormous cultural value.

Our bind will be to continue and if possible to finish the work that they have started with the same passion and, we hope, with the same success.
